TMI

Like the title says TMI, too much information. Most of what use to be on the net has been taken away. Finding web sites that gave consumers the edge. Many now have posted, "page removed for your safety".
What? Did we miss the memo on how many more ways the government can remove free information? Was there a class we forgot to show up at?

A few years ago there were these friendly hackers. They were sorta like Robin Hoods of the Internet. They would place free songs, free movies, free codes so certain software and everything worked. If you were with the millions of these lucky souls. You may have snagged up a few items, all for free.

Then, Uncle Sam got mad. To be honest entertainers got mad first, then their producers, then the men and women who put the monies up so they could record or make a movie. And finally Microsoft. yes I let the cat out of the bag.

Microsoft was split into 2 companies. This of course took place 14 years ago now. And how has that helped any small company to compete? The move really capitalized on the industry in a way the Feds most likely new it would.
Then video game prices began to take a leap into the, "where will it end pricing." Now, most are sitting at a whopping Sixty to eighty bucks. Add all those users fees for rentals of music, movies and videos whoa we have trillions maybe gazillions in profits not recorded openly.

What happened to those Robin Hoods of giving the public free stuff? The government has been slowly tracing and finally arresting them.  Just like the elderly guy who was feeding the homeless.

Too bad people who own corporations are so greedy they target us like rats at a cheese conference.  To all the Robin Hoods still out there, we want to solute you. Not because we believe in stealing but because free is good and always has been.

There was a time when a person who made clothes might have exchanged their goods for the person who raised chickens. Or the man who could repair a roof would get a loaf of bread and perhaps some wine.
All though TMI, too much information is closely monitored now by Uncle Sam. We the people are still here on the ground and in good ole fashion ready to trade. TMI.

What's your name worth?

Have you had someone commit a crime against you? Have you been the one who has committed the crime and gotten away with it?

Millions of consumers have had some sort of crime committed against them. The latest, the hacking of Sony corporation. Another big name was Target whose customers had their credit cards stolen.

People who become the victims often feel there is no real victory when credit or debit cards are stolen.
Creative hackers from all walks of life often use the Internet. The massive data storage has become a vast way to collect and steal from people.

Stealing works from news papers and online writers. Moving into theft of music, movies, credit and debit accounts. Hackers merely see companies as a short road block to their ultimate goals. And our national leaders do not seem to want us, the public to know the whole truth.

Countless numbers of us have had our identities stolen and may not know to what extent. The United States IRS has some helpful tips on handling these situations.

These lofty Internet criminals are surviving and thriving in an electronic society that does not have good or even great Internet security.

Many companies tell us they will protect us and fail utterly when truly challenged. We are told,"We're sorry for your experience, but these things do occur."

These conversations create a sense of loss. To eliminate these situations, victims are moving back to a barter and cash money system. Leaving the plastic cards and computer world behind for good.

We may not know the extent of damages until our credit goes into the toilet. By then we may face years of recovery tactics. Nothing is guaranteed to protect us from unscrupulous people determined to destroy our lives. They seem to thrive on the ruination of others by a simple key stroke.

Our very own government has been spying, tapping and following our every move on line and through our cell phones.

What defenses do we really have? Keep a close eye on your credit. You can ask Social security for a copy of your work history. This invaluable information shows if there has been an identification theft.

Perhaps moving to a cash paying lifestyle may be the only answer. What is your name worth?

North Korea Internet problems?

Perhaps while at home you skipped the afternoon headlines. This morning oil might drop to $20.00 a gallon due to United States Fracking?
Hotter issues; North Korea is having a huge disaster with the Internet. It is down.
The United States only says, "they responded to Sony Cyber attack."
Does this mean if our government decides too they can end our Internet use? Yes it does. That is exactly what many are now calling this entire issue.
A national run to monitor and control everything on the net as we know it. By our own government. But wait there's more. With all this new activity covering North Korea. What happened to South Korea? Do we believe their families and relatives will ideally sit by and watch as the North spins itself into a seething cauldron of anxiety? No of course not. Japan and China might be watching very closely. Since Russia is now facing a two year rescission. But wait the good news. If you can call it good news.
North Korea is finding out the United States has many tricks up the ole cyber sleeve they never thought we had. Maybe the world ought to consider themselves lucky we don't start dropping bomb's again amidst all this insane behavior. Chopping off heads is one thing, but mess with our Sony Corp and the horns come right out. North Korean Internet is down.

Christmas shopping with cash

Christmas in America has become a grand theatrical event for numerous stores. Up go the prices so stores can keep a win win approach.

We tell ourselves these increases are due to popular demand. The truth is companies do not wish to loose any profits during this most prestigious of holidays.

Shopping with cash at one time was the only way to go. In the past ten years America has moved to a plastic world where there are discounts for using your credit or debit cards.

Cash became important this season for our household. When our debit card was stolen without it leaving the wallet.

To our surprise cash seems to be in limited supply in some retailers shops.

"You don;t have a credit card?" Asked one store manager and we both looked at each other with surprise. I did reply.

"That is none of your business."

At another shop when we laid a one hundred dollar bill on the counter. You might think we were bank robbers or thieves. It took two employees marking the bill with a yellow marker. Then these two employees decided to hold the bill up to a bright light for well over five minutes this process went on.
To stop this I finally said, if you think it is stolen call the police other wise our time is valuable. They ended their reproach of the bill and allowed us to purchase our items.

I can say we will never shop at either store again. I will not give these stores publicity either.

It seems that shopping with cash is now looked upon as bad for the economy.

Has anyone else had this experience using cash this year? If so feel free to post a comment.

Safe and Happy holidays to all.

Toxic Registered Nurses & Medical staff

Toxic nurse's are alive and well. They seem to have their egos on their sleeves and in your face. When attempting to clarify orders and or handle new admits. These emotionally toxic and unprofessional individuals can quickly destroy the confidence of all staff.

What is worse, the statistics regarding poor patient out comes as the result of belittlement during shifts. This includes physicians conduct, nurses conduct and nursing aides as well as medication aides. Managers who witness these incidents and fail to act quickly and in a healthy manner loose opportunities for change. Focus must be placed solely on how to best serve the new patient and all patients. Personal criticisms, belittlement, brow beating and verbal assault have to be dealt with quickly.

Unfortunately, companies allow these toxic individuals their rein. These corporations need Registered nurses per state requirements.

Physicians have years of abusive behavior and our seldom if ever reprimanded by anyone. Even the most incompetent persons, have received nothing more than a fine and a short suspension. Only to return to the field and continue their pathway of harm.

Patients and other staff over hear inappropriate conversations. Mangers fail to support the staff, by immediately stepping in and redirecting those who are participating in condescending behavior towards other staff member's.
Such failures can have catastrophic outcomes for patients and staff.
Lower line employees often feel completely helpless even when they call the companies support lines. Support lines utilized to temper the individual from filing litigation against the company. The business may in fact be allowing these instances to occur.

How to best deal with out of control staff. Random oral drug screenings have tempered many a toxic individual. Finding out that most of these persons may in fact be abusing narcotics and or alcohol. Other techniques may range from directing staff to seek outside counseling with a weekly check on their conduct utilizing audits from other staff members.

Closing the door and having a tough conversation about conduct while working. One sentence that gets utilized.
"We feel you are a valuable team member lately your conduct with other staff has shown us we need to reevaluate that value."

This one liner often opens the door to emotional floods and many tears may be shed. A good manager will allow them to settle. Then give clear definitions of what is expected while working in the building. Any misconduct in the future will be a physical write up entered into said employee file. If the conduct does not stop two week suspension without pay then finally termination. This not only gives the company time to begin a new hiring process. The information gathered can assist greatly when dealing with other team members.

The health field is loosing great staff from these toxic individuals continued support. Isn't it time for a change?

Pond plants algae reprieve

Adding pond plants certainly cuts the algae growth. However, too many can have a significant toxic affect if you don't monitor the water. You can see the dark green water behind this tiny plant. They removed the algae in less than two months. To give us a clear view of the creatures living in the pond.

While this new addition has helped to clean our pond. We have lost numerous plants due to the colder weather. You must remove them as they can foul the water.

You could spend hundreds of dollars on plants. Or you might want to bring them indoors for the winter. These fast growers are called water hyacinths. They will expand quickly when winter finally lifts her dark cold shield and once again sun shines through.

They are illegal in many states. Due to the fact they can choke off a lake, river or your own pond quickly. Their roots grow long and spiny, they will kill fish if allowed to choke off your pond. You must trim the roots back. These are a hardy plant that has amazing algae removal. If your state allows them get at least six by summers end you may have fifty or more. Happy ponding.

War on narcotics - Who pays the price?

Oregon's Peace Harbor Hospital in Florence Oregon, has incorporated a supervision of all pain patients. To some, this comes as a step to stop abuse of legal medications. Real pain patients feel they are now paying for drug testing and supervision of their medications, not health care.

Once interviewed by the primary care physician or Nurse Practitioner the pain patient is given a hard script to hand carry to his or her pharmacy. A paper is set in front of said pain patient referred to as a "monitoring agreement".
Once signed, these one page documents are scanned into the respective health care file. On the next visit the pain patient is asked for urine sample. It is immediately tested for narcotics and whatever else the Doctor or medical assistant checks. Your name may be added to the national and state registry to monitor your narcotics usage. No HIPPA violations here because you have signed away your right to privacy.

If the test is positive, the sample is forwarded to the laboratory for further screening. The sample may be negative and sent any way.
Later, you receive a bill. Insurance may or may not cover the cost of these tests. Many patients are finding the additional charges unwarranted and costly.

Recently a lab bill was received with charges of nearly eight hundred dollars. If insurance pays, you may be left with a couple hundred to cover. If you have no insurance. The Peace harbor Hospital offers a one time charge of "ninety nine dollars', and they say this covers the cost in full.

There seems to be no cost containment in place since the Affordable Care Act. Calculate one hundred people by the nearly eight hundred dollars billed to insurance. Any one can quickly see why insurance premiums are so high and out of control.

DEA, The Drug Enforcement Agency of the United States has changed the classes of certain medications. Tramadol is a class IV drug now. Which means that if you wanted a non narcotic medication for pain, Tramadol is no longer available. The DEA justified the change referring to the thousands of overdoses and adverse side effects reported from hospitals nation wide.

Why all this change?

Reports that medication abuse in the United States has gone unchecked for years. Physicians, who treat pain patients are finding the very system they once relied upon, now more studious than previously experienced.

What will people do who experience true physical pain?

Certain hospitals have become nothing more than another enhanced security force for the public to contend with. Why all this concern and effort?

With the Affordable care act which ought to be called the National Rip Off legislation. We all have been forced to buy health insurance. Staggering costs for everyone with basic premiums no less than $200.00 from each paycheck and in some case's as much as $6000.00 a month. Unless you can prove you are utterly poor then your medical may be free.

The lab at Peace Harbor Hospital is just one example of possible insurance fraud. With over inflated lab fees. The average drug screening costs around the United States range from $40.00 to $80.00 depending on labs used.
Pain patients, may be at wits end. When dealing with Doctors and hospitals under new rules to police everyone. The war on narcotics seems to be costing consumers more money.

Telerus jail accounts - Debit card theft Pay Jail inmates?

Banking theft is alive and well. December 10th 2014 someone completed a soft hit on my bank account using my debit card. They withdrew $7.73 then put the money back. The next transaction was for a jail inmate account in Denver Colorado.

First notification was to my bank. Card closed, account secured and changed.  The next call was to our local police department to obtain a case number. Then to another police department in Denver Co to report a fraud. Finally to post the fraud with the FBI at IC3.gov.

Guard your debit and credit cards.

If you hand your card to any store clerk watch them closely to make sure they are not carbon copying your card. All they need are the numbers and expiration to post to any prison or jail commissary through the company that may have been responsible for not providing better security Telerus Jail accounts.
Companies who post to inmates accounts are compensated by charging each transaction up to ten or more dollars. This trillion dollar industry has a serious flaw in security.

Just a fair warning to all of you out there; guard your accounts.

Merry Christmas

Microsoft too Greedy for writers

Microsoft came up with monthly rental fees in order to capitalize another way to pull continuous payments from the public. Not only had the company been forced to split apart by the United States government due to trying to shut down every software maker around. Microsoft has utilized a set strategy in marketing to try to sell the public more smoke and mirrors. While increasing the cost of the same product and limiting licenses.

People in China may be able to buy lot's of new gadgets and software. While people in America are trying to survive pay check to pay check. As the thumbs of financial oblivion set us all into a massive tail spin. Other creations have assisted writers to hold onto their hard earned cash.

Libre Office is one such software. They give you the choice of donating or even sharing their information with others. They are not as flashy as Microsoft. However, free is not a dirty word in their vocabulary.

Microsoft could use a good lesson in fiances' since the company seems hell bent on dominating the software word. Besides a negative outlook from writers. Many home bound individuals and businesses are moving to a more cost effective avenue.

Of course with big brother breathing down our necks so closely and companies like Microsoft just trying to get good reports. Libre Office was a refreshing avenue for our household.

Mr. Garner was he a victim of a failed rear naked choke?

CNN is asking better questions today about how the death of Mr. Garner occurred over cigarettes. Why an officer felt compelled to leap onto the mans back. Attempting a choke hold maneuver that was banned from the New York Police Department.

As a laymen and studier of television and how it affects us. The answer may lye in Mixed Martial Arts.
The maneuver is called a "Rear naked Choke." It is designed to knock an opponent out if done correctly.

In reviewing the tape there appears to be a failed attempt by the officer to gain control with a poorly attempted Rear Naked choke hold. This officer was not trained well enough to perform the maneuver. Nor should any civilian be grappled to the ground so haplessly.

Police are armed with multiple equipment to subdue even the largest of foes.

All of these men were responsible for Mr. Garners death. None of them knew what to do as he lay dying. They had no medical support team next to them to provide immediate medical treatment.

Immediate re-training is helpful. Years of behaviors will not stop with one session.  The expectation that re-training police will stop the violence is not based on sound experiences.
Even with this new training, how many of these men and women will continue to verbally assault, physically threaten and eventually kill again? The public is not safe in the hands of badged personnel who are clearly in need of anger management training and more.

What are the real solutions? Great ideas can be born today to resolve tomorrows issues.

New York - Big city Big Protests

Marching throughout New York, tonight people of all nationalities have had enough. Brute force, has ended so many countless individuals lives. Police forces out of control and poorly regulated.

Police try to justify their actions by telling us,"These people are criminals." How many people do you know that have minor criminal records, because over the years police have gone to far. When they could have used common sense, give a lecture and walk away.

There was a time when pot and beer was dumped. Police helped people get rides to go home. Tickets weren't even issued.
Then death's occurred on the roadways and families screamed for justice. Outraged that those who were under the influence were not punished properly.

We the people demanded more protection and what we got was an entirely new way of policing.

Men with guns in fear of their own lives became the tormentors. Beating citizens senseless with night sticks. Tasers used on children. Children shot down, plastic guns have been made to look to real. We don't go after the manufacturers of the plastic guns, instead police kill the kids.

If we are going to allow cops to kill, then shouldn't a citizen be allowed to walk away if they feel threatened, or in fear of their life?

The news for one second asked why they did not summons Mr. Garner. Instead police felt it was their duty to arrest him and get physical?

How many police officers were involved this last July who perpetrated this crime against a family man, five, six? Then they offered him no medical treatment; they eventually called for an ambulance when they realized he was dead?

The medical examiner must be under extreme pressure now.

A Grand Jury said no charges in this case. Why the public asks. No one wants to admit the truth. The names of those Grand Jury members are easily accessible to police. Do you believe the police would not threaten and arrest them or their families?

The entire judicial system and law enforcement system is nothing but a money hungry platform for corruption.

We decimated the mental health field,  now we cry foul again. No one wants to see crazy, we lock everyone up who acts out. Police records are created, then those records become public. Our society is trying to make as many people as we can subservient. Locked into a financial slavery.

Mr. Garner was selling cigarettes for gods sake what is wrong with the police?

The deaths of young black males has got to stop. The deaths of anyone in police custody has got to stop. All the protests in the world will never make right what is so wrong.

When the South and North went to war it was to free slaves. One side believed all men were created equal while the other side decided people who were different were lesser beings. Brother against brother. Families torn apart.

When will America see real justice? When we finally implode onto the streets, in acts of violence? Will the protests over police treatment help us as a nation to move us forward into a healthier society?

NYPD - Eric Garner died from Choke hold Not Illegal

Police just don't get it. Killing anyone during an arrest is beyond acceptable, unless their life is in eminent danger from a weapon. Being large and fat does not mean you are a weapon.

Policies were created to tell Police officers not to use choke holds. These policies were bore from numerous deaths not reported to the public.

Tucson Arizona, Kino Community Hospital, a psychiatric female patient who weighed about 125 pounds was sat on by a security guard who weighed close to 225 pounds, after a nurse called for help to subdue the patient. This patient died of asphyxia, the patient told the security guard she could not breath. Choke hold deaths were also reported at this same hospital years ago in the 90's. To clear the records and give a better public image the county released the hospital to University Medical Center to manage it.

Police for years have been told not to utilize force unless it is absolutely necessary. These officers tell Grand Juries the words they need to hear."I felt I was in eminent danger."

Headlines race across the television another police officer killed a person during an arrest. Video recording acknowledges the man did not want to be arrested.

To justify the deaths the former NYPD Chief states,"It happens, it is unfortunate."  This former NYPD chief of police stated,"Don't resist the police"
That is blaming the public for not being good.

When dealing with people who clearly say, "I can't breath." Any one in law enforcement and the medical world knows you must back away. They might die, there are numerous unrecorded deaths from these actions. We only know about 500 that have been publicized.

America has thousands of deaths from choke holds. That is why CPI training crisis prevention intervention was created and utilized in many hospital facilities. The police departments have known about this invaluable training for years.

While our tax dollars were spent on leather jackets and new tires for vehicle's for thousands of police departments after September 11th, known as 9-11. The waste was out of control. There was no concern for training to actually protect the public. CPI training really does prevent death.

The public is asking why Grand Juries are turning blind eyes to these deaths. As if human life is no longer valuable when you act out.

The latest death was from a man selling illegal cigarettes? What were these men in uniform thinking? He is big and black, we need the practice?

Shame knows no end for the police departments nation wide. Step up and get the training needed to help the public. The old adage "To protect and serve." Is looking more like,"We can kill you and get away with it every time."

Eric Garner should not have died for selling illegal cigarettes. Why were these men in uniform not utilizing a common sense approach to a simple crime; write a ticket and release?

This so called crime was so simple, it appears Mr. Garner died for a will- full out of control police department. Mr. Garner died from a choke hold that was banned yet Officer Pantaleo used it? Why?

Amazon greed to succed

Amazon has many attributes we all enjoy. The simplicity of clicking and receiving the boxes only a few days after order. Prime members pay for 12 months of free shipping by an up front payment of $99.00 a year. Nothing is really free, that $99.00 covers most shipping costs for 6 months or more in some cases.

With trillions of dollars available to shrewd businesses. Amazon was on track to grant itself profits through the roof. A recent move may have dampened this path.

Pop-up ads. You know them, some of you shoppers even use them on your sites. Seizing profits through shared advertising.

These very annoying pop up ads have caused many shoppers to buy directly from the stores this season. Amazon may not have foreseen the losses. Amazon might  still record sales doubling though out this holiday season. Even with the endless stream of ads jumping into the faces of customers.

The timing of these pop up ads, was to say the least, tasteless. These pop up ads feel a little barbaric when shopping intensifies. With millions on the line, customers must now constantly click at these very annoying ads. Will you stay, or shop directly at stores who understand we hate these tiny pop up ads? Perhaps for many the answer will be get in the car or bus and go shopping locally. Has Amazon's greed to succeed over ridden common sense in business sales?

Nursing career over?

Nurses train and receive education to allow them to sit for the NCLEX, The National Licensure Examination. Every state created a Board of Nursing to govern and carry out the task of making sure practice rules and regulations are followed. Nurses are required to read and understand these rules.
Some boards have posted general directions for companies and Directors of Nursing to help them decide if a nurse should be looked at more closely by the Board of Nursing. Patient safety and neglect were the top reasons for most boards creation. A loud cry of foul by the public in Elder care was heard. Each state created a band-aide.

Like a drivers license, a nursing license is a privilege.  We are responsible for our own actions as adults. There are always going to be incidents that occur on shifts. Some have tragic endings, some incidents create lesser degrees of  problems.
When we face our own frailty in good judgement, when we see things need to change on our end. Perhaps at this juncture the answer becomes clear, it is time to leave nursing.

The feelings inside of worry and fear make sleeping a much less valued time. As nurses wait to see if they will be subject to termination or in house disciplinary action, even the dread of Nursing Board actions. The possibility of law suits and loss of home, career and any assets certainly gives rise to uncontrollable fear.  Thoughts of suicide can enter the mind when all other possibilities look so grim.
Nurses have been jailed and prosecuted for acting in unprofessional manners towards patients. We read headlines about Administrators stealing from residents. Directors of Nursing covering up massive amounts of errors for the sake of company and pay check. Death can occur in the elder population very easily. And still nurses get up every day, go to work, facing huge patient loads in Long term care settings and rehabs. We very rarely hear about physicians who make errors and nurses who pay the price.

Boards of Nursing justify the patient load by nurses aides, practical nurses and Registered nurses being staffed. What they do not see is the work loads for the one nurse who is trying to manage as many as 40 to 100 patients by themselves. Without any other nurse in the building. As little as 24 to 1 can feel daunting. Day shifts filled with admits, and discharges. Without good communication practices, schedules are not set with two hour windows. people just show up when ever. Some schedulers laugh at the nurses who struggle with all the tasks.  Companies jam the elderly into the various facilities to increase the census so corporations reap billions of dollars in profits while treating nurses like second class citizens.
Huge numbers of errors are made from time constraints. "Get off the time clock", is the national mantra in Long term care/rehab.. Chart while you perform the IV starts, blood draws, blood sugar checks, vitals, admits, discharges, answer phone calls, perform wound care, and handle emergencies. There are many other tasks not listed here. These business modalities are failing nurses and patients.
Accidents happen. Lack of good judgement happens. Stress plays a key role. However, no amount of blogging will ever change these horrible situations nurses endure.
Emotions run high, people can't handle the stress. Many nurses turn to drugs and booze to cope. While they don't realize they are compounding the problems they have. Nurses who do not use any mind altering substances also find themselves in trouble. Nurses must remember, nursing is a privilege not a right. Regardless of how the errors occur, is the Nursing career over?

Internet Security

Security, we speak about it all the time in America. We build fences all around us to secure homes and property. We have created the largest boarder enforcement in the world. We have built more prisons than any other country. Still, we face Internet security problems globally?

We decided we needed to update our computers and try to secure them. I laughed at the thought, but as an undereducated person with regards to the Internet, I figured it is a small price to pay for protection.

What began as a simple down load has turned into a frustrating process of close, reboot, click and check. Close, reboot, click and check. Finally, tonight I have come to the conclusion the monies I spent are worthless. McAfee was our chosen download. Perhaps it is the older version of windows 7 or some really simple issue I can not figure out. Two days of my life now have been absorbed by trying to get the darn thing to load onto my old laptop.

OK, laugh if you you must. When your time is swallowed by sitting around waiting for some supposed protection that you just paid your hard earned cash on, well the laughing stops.
Every time I get to the license sign in page this little circle turns but nothing happens. I downloaded the technical support, it did a couple of fixes. I was still unable to download. I had spoken with customer service but I am not an expert and barely understood what they wanted me to do.

The software loaded to the other computers but not this one. If I were a betting man I would say something is blocking it but no messages or pop ups.

Last ditch effort and I feel better. Jay F in customer service finally had a solution. He took remote control of the laptop and cleaned a couple of things up. He wanted me to take the laptop for repairs. Unknowingly, he had fixed the issue. When I went back to McAfee it began the download. Mind you this process took more than 2 hours. I will be notifying the Internet carrier.

Frustration is subsiding as my faithful old laptop chugs along in peace. Perhaps, the global world can settle for one moment and stop trying to send out virus's to end the lives of computers. McAfee may not be the best for your situation but they eventually fixed the problem without knowing they did. I just had to laugh.

Wrong verdict in Michael Brown case or justice?

We want to believe that law enforcement is good for our society. Recent events, cast doubt upon the police using lethal force during an arrest.
We were not there that fatal day when Michael Brown and Officer Darren Wilson met. A grand Jury convened and found Officer Darren Warren acted in self defense, following the rule of law.

We have countless historical acts by blacks documenting the communities outrage over past, present and future treatments under the law. The  L.A. riots in 1992, young black males pulled a white trucker out of his truck. They beat him senseless, nearly to death. He is permanently disabled. In 1998 white males tied a rope around a black mans neck. These men drove around with him tied to their truck until his head was ripped off. We have years of slavery and welfare.

What we do not have is a fair and impartial jury. We do not have fair police departments. Systems are broken in this nation and must be fixed.
These acts of violence have done little to improve black culture. We seem to march when children get gunned down who may have acted irresponsibly toward police.

No one was marching or getting violent over issues that affect us all. Forced Health insurance sales. Using the IRS to police the population nationally. Voting on issues that ought to be public. Spying on all citizens. We barely raised an eyebrow as a society.

Culturally, blacks have yelled louder, marched more and created more violence than any other culture in America. When do we say - enough?
Are we all sheep? Do we just want to use the deaths of young men and women to our advantages?

Michael Brown's parents tell us he was a good son, he would never be violent. I remember in high school a young black man, his parents said the same thing. His mother was a mouthy drunkard. His father worked for the local mine. That young man got into many fist fights over his mouth.
What ever we may want to believe these two males met and acted out of fear. Guns, fear and adrenalin do not go well together.

We arm people; then tell them not to have an emotional response to a hostile, violent situation.  The problem is: one will go home the other will not. Police are afraid. They should be. We are violent and we are capable of horrible behavior when provoked or in fear. We are human beings. We all have emotions and we all get angry. Some will give up, some will not.
The justice system is unequal to those who have no money regardless of skin color. However, if you are black or Hispanic there appears to be a wider difference in the justice system. Placing a man of color as President did not solve this issue. Now, our nation must watch as youthful individuals will act out against anyone in their way. We might want the police here now. Was the verdict wrong in Michael Browns case or justice?

Road Warriors

As the holidays approach I see people driving faster and faster. Today a deer lay across the side of the road. The elk lay a mile down from that. A racoon splattered on the yellow lines. A coastal bird mashed into the side where bikes are to ride. A dog rotting in the grass. A mouse flicking to its death. Then the sky was filled with Geese and I wept. Telling my self today is a good day, at least we all don't fly yet.
This season, could you slow down. Can you look out for every creature. Can you just stop and look around. What would this planet be with out all the other life forms? They have families their trying to feed and get back to. Slow down and let them pass. Use your horn most of them will move. Yell at them, they might listen. Stop and think if that was your pet. What would you want a driver to do? We may have laid the black top, but we didn't consider the rest of the planet when we did.

Killing is not kindness in action. Road warriors; slow down this holiday season and think of the other creatures. Be kinder in your travels Road Warriors.

Obama 2 years remain - more waste

Over the last six years Americans have watched in horror, as a once hopeful candidate asked the people, "Are you ready for change?" Massive turn outs and record voting drove the Republicans from office like water. Yet, we have seen our taxes rise through a terrible housing debacle created to displace millions from their dream homes. Causing a depreciation of millions of other homes. While CEO's of banks, banks themselves and Chrysler all reaped huge rewards from this nightmare.Using our taxes. Americans were told; this was what the nation needed to stay on top of the world financially. Our nation's financial credit was turned down a notch. Due to a complete mismanagement of our taxes. The final blow came when Washington was able to convince the Supreme court that Forced Health insurance sales would some how help the people. One gigantic financial rip off to our citizens. And many still believe things will get better. A few voters turned out to reap the glory of placing Republicans back into lost seats. Democrats were tossed out. Voting turn out was the lowest since the forties. While some have cast a verbal onslaught onto those who either did not vote or were unable to vote. Those potential voters are now seen as the problem with this nation. Civil disobedience is in full swing and Washington knows it. Hence, the creation of DHS. Who now has the largest armed force in America. DHS has recorded using more ammunition than our entire military. Under the guise of boarder enforcement. More waste of our taxes. President Obama today announced his full efforts for the last 2 years will be to tackle climate change. I had to laugh. All through school we were taught how the earth changes all by itself and is capable of wiping all life away and beginning again. Some how I hear my wallet being opened and another hand dipping into it. Over these last few years more money has been taken away from every person in America and our tax dollars wasted. With 2 years remaining we can only pray we are not hit with more deductions from our paychecks.

Everyone needs to be heard - voting

In the last few weeks, talk show host's have all placed a spin on the Republican win. Each with their own version of how this happened and why. Some talk show host's, lack in understanding about those who do not make over twenty to fifty grand a year or even less. We call Social security disability collectors the problem. Some stated, "If you have a lack of dirty hands this means you are part of the problem." Referring to politics as being dirty. And it is, millionaires run this nation, not the working class, not the poor not the middle class. We say we want change, then we get ripped off. We vote, and things get worse. I seriously doubt any of these talk show hosts can turn their hands over to see a single callous, blister, burn, sticker or any trace they have had a difficult life. Where I come from, that was called the upper middle class and privileged. Some television hosts. I have heard, expose their personal belief that, "we" who don't vote are too lazy and irresponsible. As laughable as these statements are they are far from the truth. Many people have no identification. That little issue alone has been preventing hundreds of thousands from showing up at the polls and Republicans and Democrats have both whittled away at voting in the United States.Creating more impositions to this supposed simple process. A right people fought for and died. We shouldn't have any barriers today to placing a vote. Regardless, some of the men and women who talk on television seem to be under the influence of ignorance. While utilizing comedy and vulgarity to impress their audiences. I personally think they are buying time before they run for some political office. These learned talk show hosts are so far removed from the working class individuals who bust the ground, sweat over the coals, serve the food, and wait tables, clean the homes, climb into the sky to build for the greed of others. Just to get a check. Once they open it, they see now for the first time in history forced health insurance fees, medicare, social security, short and long term disability, child support deductions, court garnishment fees, federal taxes, state taxes and so on. We can add in the IRS to this list due to forced health insurance sales. All these fees keep many locked into a money enslaved cycle they are unable to get out of. Government funding cuts to education, while we were told the lotteries would help improve our educational opportunities. Instead politicians were funneling monies away and the lottery became the only support. Job cuts, wage reductions by employers.Yet, billions of taxes are not collected from companies riding off these low wage earners backs. Those who did not vote were the issue? Take some responsibility for your own actions and stop driving the nails between the wealthy and poor. If you voted great, meanwhile get off the backs of those that didn't. They have reasons you don't even know about. One man I spoke with registered to vote in the new state he moved too. He was denied the right to vote in that state. He was sent a letter stating he was registered in another state. That stopped that man from voting for over 5 years. He placed calls, wrote letters and tried to get answers to such a simple situation. He was being denied his right to vote, no answer was ever given as why this happened. Then two days after voting occurred this year, he received his voters card for the first time in years. He was a registered Democrat. This is another situation created for some purpose, yet unknown. Passing false judgments on those who did not vote is not my job. Nor is this anyone else's. What sticks in me is what appears to be a blatant attempt by legislators, to rip the right to vote away from the populace. We were not invited to vote on forced health insurance. Which has nothing to do with healthcare. Healthcare, is more about what we eat and how we treat our bodies in youth.Money often dictates what types of foods we eat. Education about good healthcare can come from many sources. We were not invited to vote on going to War in Iraq over oil. We were lied to by many who spoke of weapons of mass destruction with such powerful voices we were captivated and struck into fear. When planes flew into buildings here in America, all these men who performed those heists were from Saudi Arabia minus one. And when the news followed this story, monies by the millions some how were funneled to these terrorists families by the United States and Saudi Arabia. Yet, we were assured this was not an act our own legislator would participate in. During WWII we locked up Japaneses American citizens. Our government listens in on our conversations, internet activity and yet we are told this action is to keep us all safe. Forced health insurance isn't paid for by employers; it is the employees responsibility to get insured. What about the homeless? They don't have email or addresses? Some talk show hosts tell us you make change by voting? Really, I see a government out of control, out of touch with reality, and leading a dangerous path of financial ruination, while stripping away the right to vote from the populace. While the realtors and bankers raped American citizens dreams of home ownership offering inflated loans our great legislators clapped and cheered as they made more money. Then our government paid Bankers more monies with our taxes, they borrowed from Social security (our monies)and never paid it back and now want to end social security. Our trusted leaders paid Chrysler millions of our tax dollars telling us this was a national company. Then the CEO got his millions in bonus' and they repainted their cars and trucks while buying ad space on television. Voting didn't change anything, voting did create massive greed. This nation is at war with everyone around the world. We are spying, lying, and trying to cover it up. Now, Americans are economically dissatisfied and unable to increase their incomes. Yet, those who had to work on voting day and were unable to vote were the issue? Threats of unemployment loomed. Many states do give employers an opportunity to allow employees to vote. Many others do not. I am sure of one thing; everyone needs to be heard. Not just the judgmental talk show hosts.

Joe Cross - King of Fat, sick and nearly dead 1 & 2

I have to say normally I do not plug for any one else. Selfishness and lack of social internet skills does that. Tonight, however sleep was eluding me. Perhaps the holidays bring up memories of trauma and drama. I got this email from Joe Cross. You have heard of him as the King of Juicing. He made the movies Fat, Sick and nearly dead 1 and now 2. When my wife and I watched it. We were moved. But our motivation fades with the stress created from working in a skilled nursing facility. But, I have kept juicing at least every other week as money allows. And I am working on building a sustainable environment for us. I hope to learn gardening so we can produce some of these crops to juice. What happened after I posted to his You tube site. He sent me an email. I needed that, desperately. We all have a story and we have to tell it. Joe Cross being a rich man I felt he was just wanting to sell juicers, but when we drank the juice recipes things changed. Working in the health care field we see many who have poor diets using the classic American food and lack of exercise theory. Now, we feed our elders the same things as before when they lived in their homes. I see money as an instrument for good or evil. And this situation makes me angry when we are fat telling others how to eat. Nursing care centers the food doesn't taste bad all the time but I have yet to see any real fruit offered, soups or juices that are healthy. We now have forced health insurance that has crushed so many. And angered millions. Joe Cross made a difference to me in my thinking and my body. I am still on a path and hope this year I will get more muscle and continue to trim off the fat. But when your living pay check to pay check food is tough to buy. Prices are crazy now. And so I will encourage all people to learn how to grow gardens to help supplement their families foods. May all of you have good health and less stress this holiday season. No matter where you are. Again, thanks to you Joe Cross for finding out the truth about food and sharing it.

Republicans will rule the nation

Our society here in America has been polarized. The Democrats have taken us into a financial deficit like America never has seen. Estimates, are now that babies born in America today are all ready sixty thousand dollars in debt. To correct this disastrous situation. Americans are now turning to Republicans to help our society. Regardless, what your affiliation may be. As adult voters we must never forget the basic right to vote was created from war. Even with millions who have kept voting. Our leaders have continued to take us down a financial path we can not sustain. As the wealthy become richer, the poor are growing by leaps and bounds. For every one wealthy person there are well over one million poor. This is an insane way to continue in America. Instead of creating a Universal health system we can sustain. The rich voted, with out our consensus to force us to buy insurance. Now, physicians are beginning to see how they can make millions as well. This is not about good health. America has become about greed. Our nation is in trouble. The angry are mobile. They have weapons, they have motivation. And our government knows it. Our own government has been making lists of dealers, pot heads, queers, lesbians, feminists, racists, transsexuals, blacks, Latinos, Chinese, Russian, Indians. The e-lists go on. Our government admits they continue to listen to our conversations. Monitor our internet activities. They are trying to monopolize the internet and tax it. They have blocked blogs, seized online stores. Closed down online activity we once enjoyed. Yet, we do nothing, absolutely nothing. Some voted, many did not. The lack of voting was primarily an act of civil disobedience. Washington is not running scared. No matter what side of the polls you are on. You can not possibly be ignorant to what is happening here now? No political party is willing to cut off the financial hemorrhage. All though talks are energizing to end Social security and medicare. A once fluid sustainable system that the politicians have borrowed monies from continually. Millions face becoming homeless if Social security is ended. Politicians grow their own incomes, and let the rest of us fall down and die. We are repeating the past. How can America be the home of the free and the brave if only a few are there to serve the many? If the masses wanted to remove our current political system it would mean national disaster, people are afraid to act. Prisons and jails here in America house over a quarter of our population this number is rising. Taxes wasted on the millions who see no other way to live but to continue in crime. Our taxes pay for their healthcare in prison. Now, Americans are willing to gamble that Republicans will rebuild this nation; give us good job training; improve the forced insurance sales. And make everything better. Lies upon lies, and we listen intently. As politicians have worn their suits and dresses and carried themselves around the globe on our dollars. We do nothing. Absolutely, completely nothing. Suicide is the highest it has ever been. As blogs are banned and closed. Because the voices can not be allowed to be heard. Writers will document into history these days of the wealthy and the poor. Roman history is now playing out here in America. And so we will see what the next five years brings. All eyes now look to Republicans to seize the presidency and turn this mess around. Historically; Republicans have gotten us into more wars, more debt, and more economical strain than any other political group. If America does not stop this national disaster, America will fall into the hands of our creditors. And like all repossessions the take over will be swift; filled with pain and sadness of what could have been. Republicans will rule the nation. Until China has had enough.

Washington out of touch with American's

Republicans took the house. Now we can look forward to nothing getting done for 2 years.

We can enjoy watching these millionaires struggle to figure out what the people want. The newest Republicans were confused by the votes to legalize marijuana and deny more taxation.

Except in California were sugar drinks are now going up due to taxes. California enjoys a much higher wage bracket, with wealthier individuals residing there. Wealth removes many obstacles to education and housing. Wealth allows for the purchase of the best insurance. Those who can afford it get the best treatments. While millions out in America just want a break from heavy taxation and higher commodity prices.

Washington hasn't figure out they have broken America. Example: Two wealthy physicians were given experimental drugs from the FDA then the world was told even though the drugs cured EBOLA they have no cure. Our own government is cosigning the deaths of millions.

Washington still hasn't figured out the people are really angry about forced health insurance sales. Forced health insurance does not give us good health. We each have an opportunity if we have enough money to feed ourselves and grow gardens. Sadly, millions starve. America has a huge lack of good paying jobs. We have not created programs to train older adults in new careers who may be lacking educational backgrounds. There is no one willing to stop human over population. And as tragic as the world is, we are killing everything for more food.

President Obama's lack of leadership and his ruination of our country financially has placed newborns in debt before getting out of the womb. He was brought to office to create a universal health system and unite us like never before, he lied. Like the millionaires who went before him, he lied. He could not get the job done. No one can. This nation will need a national change or the United States will go down as a once great opportunity that ended because a few wealthy people would not share the wealth. People will not live where they can not be free. People eventually fight back enslavement.

The United states has more than a quarter of our population locked up. Drugs, alcohol and stupidity seem to run hand in hand. Yet millions want to legalize marijuana. We are not allowing everyone to be licensed and have an opportunity to build wealth. Only a select few will be allowed to run businesses and only their families allowed to get rich. Washington has not legalized pot. Instead the DEA goes around arresting those who seek to bend the law. While still wasting our tax dollars.

Washington has not listened to the voters; they want pot legalized. Instead of building new infrastructure, our tax dollars are pissed away like a huge down pour of water.

Politicians in Washington borrow from Social security then tell us they want to end it. They pass no law to protect our monies in this program. That would not benefit Washington. All they need to do is expand medicare, we all ready pay for it. That's an idea just to simple for the wealthy to handle. To get more money they forced us to buy insurance. An illegal move on this nations part. Regardless of how they voted or how the Supreme court voted. Washington created this forced health insurance without one regular citizens vote. Had the people known it was nothing more than forced health insurance sales we would have voted it down. We were never given that chance. Democrats paid for this lunacy.
Now Republicans want to over haul the so called Affordable care act to make more of us join. We are a country run by fear and we are in fear of them. Washington has turned the IRS into a giant police force with health insurance. If you don't buy in, you pay with your tax refund. How defeated many Americans feel. They can't get ahead. We work all year, then we have the hope of monies due taken away because we can't afford to buy insurance. Families deciding about food and shelter. Not insurance. And Washington is not listening. If this law remains they can force us to buy insurance of any kind. Washington can force us to buy one kind of bread, stand in food lines. Washington can create an entire new set of rules for us to live by and we do nothing but type on a keyboard. Even that is in jeopardy now.The people of this nation are not being heard.

We do not want border fences; we want a just system to process those who come here. And we can't get it. We can no longer put our children into college without amassing huge debt. The American dream of a home ownership is only there for those who save from birth to grave. Even then we need a cap on housing prices. Millions more are now homeless and jobless.

Taxing the internet is coming.Washington is out of touch with Americans.

Ebola Nurse And Idiot Judge

Regardless of the ruling Kaci Hickox will go down as one determined woman who fought the law and won. We tried to confirm she was a nurse online but we could not verify that. So I am not going to call her a nurse. Perhaps a caregiver who volunteers to go abroad. Judges have no business interfering in medical matters that concern our national population. To disregard protocols set up by the Center for Disease Control is like playing God and hoping your right. Why this woman felt the need to fight to get out of a 21 day quarantine we may never know. As a health care worker I can understand the financial burden the 21 day quarantine places a person in when living pay check to pay check. But, when dealing with a disease that can kill millions upon millions this health care worker is not a person I would allow around my family. She blatantly negates a safety situation to benefit herself. That is not a nurses duty. Since a judge has ruled she can go about her own business I wonder if he knew she had a fever. Then it went away. Or was that reported as a lie to get her some news. Perhaps she saw a spot light and went for the possibility of money. Her motivation to get out of quarantine is worrisome to those of us who know we must follow all safety protocols to protect the public. And if I were on a nursing board I would have to question her character and whether she should be a nurse if she is one. If this woman won't follow this protocol what others doesn't she feel she needs to follow?

Forced Health Insurance

If my father were alive we would have packed the truck and left. America, the land of the free, not any more. When laws are passed to force people to buy a product they do not want or need. We create a burden upon our entire society. America's government has done it this time. Fines if you don't buy insurance, possible jail time later on. Now, some of you will say I am wrong. I ask you this. If you fail to pay the IRS what can they do to you? Do you know? They will seize your assets. Freeze your bank accounts. And they have the power to ruin your life. Yes, they have the power to jail those in debt. Forced health insurance was created to serve trillions of dollar's to the senators and congressional persons that are heavily invested in insurance. This entire scheme was passed by our very own Supreme court. Who either was lied to and they really didn't understand what the hell they were doing. Or they felt Americans needed to pay hefty insurance bills to create more commerce. Because America is dying in commerce. If our own government can do this with car and health insurance next will be dental and life. That is not the America I was raised to believe in. We were the greatest nation in the globe and we have fallen dramatically under the riches rule. We are now like Romans facing a calamity of societal proportions, we are headed for civil uprising. If China does not take us over due to our irresponsible leadership nationally because of our indebtedness. I believe Russia will make a move with China. We have pissed away a great opportunity to capitalize on a national level to provide a United Health system. We have fractured our all ready broken system and over whelmed Americans into debt before birth. Children now owe over sixty thousand dollars prior to being born here. Any one who becomes a citizen no longer can enjoy the many opportunities once laid out for all. While educational cost continues to rise beyond belief with no end in sight. Families no longer talk to their kids about buying homes. We have continued to inflate market values of houses that are not worth the money invested to repair them. As our country is disintegrating around us. Our leaders are taking our money away to place in their families pockets. As sad as I am about our national woes. I see this forced insurance as a violation of our rights not to purchase something. This law can force you to buy all Apple products, that is what this law has opened us to. When ever a government forces its people to buy one product that only benefits a few it reminds me of the stories about the Holocaust. How can any Supreme Court Justice be trusted now? How can we allow these people to stay in charge of our nation and write law? They can just as easily begin locking up all those they deem unworthy. Like Yahoo ending Yahoo Contributors, and the closing of so many other web sites to begin monopolizing the internet. This country is at war with everyone around the world and now within its own boarders we are pushing Americans to the breaking point financially. Insurance costs have sky rocketed. Costing anywhere from $300.00 to $6,000.00 dollars per family per month. The truth is most will not get sick. That was before they also let Ebola in. Now, everyone must face this biological illness and forced health insurance nightmare. Americans need to repeal forced health Insurance sales. We need to some how get forced health insurance on the ballot nationally. Give the people their vote without the lies. This forced health insurance was nothing more than a scam. Ebola will kill hundreds of thousands and possibly millions. Insurance isn't going to prevent that.

Fit test infection control

In Arizona due to TB outbreaks from across the boarder. Most facilities in the health care world performed fit tests. These were simple tests to see what size mask or respirator mask you would need in the event of an emergency. Here in Oregon many folks have told me they didn't even know what I was talking about. This is concerning because we now have Ebola in the United States. The only educational nurse I have met was from a pharmacy up in Portland. Fit tests are used not only to teach staff how to utilize a mask but what size they should wear. Masks are not one size fits all in the arena of infection control unless it is a simple paper mask. As a health care worker I have become concerned employers are not doing enough to educate and train staff for an outbreak of any kind. Our first line of defense in the medical world is having properly trained staff and the lack of this is glaring around the nation as the CDC recently pointed out. If you are working at a facility that has not provided any training on PPE (personal protective equipment) it may be time to ask how we can help educate rather than try to deal with the infection control issue after we are in the middle of a crisis. As well as making sure there are the right supplies on hand if you do have an infection control problem for all the staff to use.

Pain in bones

Every body experiences pain in their lifetime. So we all understand when we get hurt what pain is. However, pain in your bones is something very different. This kind of pain wakes people up and causes many sleepless nights. With American medicine fighting drug addiction Physicians are having real pain patients sign papers to protect the facilities and the physician. These forms may specify no refills before 4 weeks or various time frames and allow for drug screenings to be performed regularly to rule out other drug usage. Which can be very confusing to the pain patient. While Doctors struggle to find ways to treat pain, bone pain is horribly under treated. Many medications cause such bad side effects hundreds of thousands have turned to marijuana. But does it really help pain or just numb the brain? Recently a physician told me our brains were wired for opioid's not pot. Working with people who have had cancer, HIV and other terminal disease I have witnessed their ability to function better after they smoked pot. However, I am concerned physicians are turning away from this medicine because of their personal views. Or, it could be because marijuana is illegal in America at the federal level. Which puts a licensed medical personal at risk of loosing their license. Medicine has long known marijuana has benefits. Federal law ought to catch up with society any day now for the greater good. So more real bone pain patients could find relief with their physicians help.

Nursing, not for babies

In 2005 I entered the nursing arena believing I would make a huge difference in the lives of those I would take care of. The difference was laid out upon me. As a male I expected to get picked upon and possibly even some jokes made. I never expected a female to cuss me out over asking her to sign the narcotics book when we finished the count (that is a state requirement in that case). She had her outburst in an all male locked down psychiatric unit. As she slammed doors and cussed the residents came to the window to see if they could help me, I ask them to remain calm and go to their rooms. I wrote a letter of complaint to my Director of nursing. She laughed and tossed the letter aside stating, "nursing isn't for babies." I am glad to tell you, neither of these women are working in the field. Incompetence seems to run rampant. On another occasion, another female nurse decided she could physically smack me in the face when I asked about an IV medication and if the resident had received the dose, after the resident told me they never got the lunch dose. In that state I simply picked up the phone called the police and filed assault charges. She too is no longer working in the field. My car became a victim of an angry nurse who was caught on video at the hospital I worked. All these crazy women yelling they were the victim when after investigation I was the real victim. I have survived by documentation, and lucky for me video with sound recordings were made at the companies I worked. I keep telling myself I will stop working in the field because there are some really sick people that work in nursing. And they won't get help. There are the ones who won't give the medications as ordered, the ones who can't seem to put in a note for the shift they worked. The ones who constantly call off but are above reproach because their closest friend is the Director of nursing. The ones who are having sex with the doctors so they can get them to write a prescription. Nurses who will not wash their hands or use PPE (personal protective equipment) as directed. Nurses who scream, cry and yell at residents and other staff when they are frustrated and over whelmed. I have seen more violence in nursing than my fifteen years in construction and not just from nurses. I worked on a cardiac unit when male doctor exploded on a nurse. He scared the residents so badly two began to have cardiac issues. The nurse began crying and had to leave the floor she did not return. I approached the male doctor and told him to shut up and real it in. I was a nursing assistant at that time. I got wrote up and told he was wrong and so was I because I was not his equal. I'm sorry, did I fall into a vacuum of screwed up personalities? I thought the NCLEX was tough. To be fair I have worked with some fantastic nurses and doctors. They are the ones I aspire to be like. Yet, I still here those words "nursing isn't for babies."

Character reference, what a character?

When I enter a room some folks act negatively to me. This has happened through out my life in varying degrees. Some folks are down right unfriendly, some are cruel in word and deed, others just turn away. My spouse tells me I need Riki work. A sort of shifting in the energy to remove negatives. When I began searching for another job to secure more income I found myself needing what employers call character references. Now for a dude who looks like he could implode at any moment I need these references. To my happy inner child I have them. All though there is some negative response to my being. I am a dam good worker. I pride myself in doing what is right by the law. And so I have some great references. But many of them will tell you what a character I am. He is stern but fair. He is tough but he gets the job done. He is so funny I cry when he talks because he makes me laugh so much. But recently a bridge was burnt for home and hearth and I listened to my wife. Perhaps preemptively I took her advice. You see she understands management more than I. And she knew the folks we were employed by, were, well lets say, not of the best character. They enjoyed belittling those who paid their bills. And those who worked for them. So we made a decision to leave without the ominous two weeks notice. And I made the mistake of believing because we had done such great work they would give me a good reference. Wow, how wrong I was. My character was trashed by them. I found out because we live in a population of less than 15 thousand. And our local Walmart employees seem to have the line on town gossip. Along with the local dollar store and auto parts store and then we have the marina's. The moral of the story is we all need character references just be careful not to be the character they bad mouth.

Co-worker Harassment how to help stop it

Years have passed like the now flowing lava in Hawaii. As a young man I found myself in the construction industry and many times other men were very cruel in behavior and deed. We had a few women working with us, very few, like three. We harassed those ladies, we all did the cat call. The hey babe and occasional slap on the butt. How those women felt I never knew. I entered the medical world after falling nearly two stories in my youth. I bounced better than and recovered quickly but I needed a change. As a caregiver, I could see folks at home or in the hospital even nursing homes. I enjoyed the work, all though it was tough. I made less than the construction field but I felt as if I were giving more to our society than working on a job site. I found myself on the other end of harassment. Women who would slap me on the butt. Or say really poor tasteless sexual jokes intended for me. I have had an occasional run in with gay men as well. I don't care about other peoples sexual orientation putting it bluntly I have sex, and as a free person I am allowed to have sex. Too many times employers who are in positions of supervisory roles allow or even participate in this behavior of harassment. Why they would take the chance of loosing their careers I am not sure. For me if you want to have sex with some one, tell them. Maybe they will agree. But to harass a person is to try to intimidate them. And for me the buck stops here. I see this as nothing more than violence. And if the law isn't on your side you can notify the corporation. You see one thing I have learned is employers who have millions too loose will cut out the risky real fast. If you feel like you can't go over their head just write a letter about their behavior and sooner or later the letters will get someone in trouble. Not you, if you stay anonymous. Usually these idiot co-workers and supervisors will cut their own throats by their own behavior because they just can't stop. What is great today is there are so many ways to catch people acting up and boom, when you get your evidence what a great day has passed. You will never feel as good as when they are no longer employed because they just couldn't shut up. I must admit when my former boss lost her job after she publicly harassed me I was secretly happy. Perhaps this woman was let go for other reasons but sending in the information I believe revealed enough to the company with all her other issues they needed to part ways. So don't be afraid of your bully. Eventually they will loose. And if the harassment is bad enough turn to the law. There are many ways to help the turd head figure out they are wrong. In the mean time support groups or even counseling may help you to walk through this nasty ordeal.

Observation and quarantine will they work?

The news stories jump around now like fleas hoping over carpet. As an American I knew some day in my lifetime we would face possible microbiological threats. And like you I am scared. Not from the news but from other people who are unwilling to participate in following protocols and unwilling to stay in quarantine. Videos depicting Liberian workers forcing a sick man to return to the sick zone. But he was running away, he doesn't want to die. I understand how he feels. When the needle was embedded into my finger at a hospital,I was a lower line employee who took out the trash. "The nurses who worked there just made a mistake", the Director of nursing told me."It happens", she said emphatically. I was mortified. No matter what age we are when we are challenged with death we all balk. No one really wants to die. We can become desperate believing we can not go on and many commit suicide. Alone and scared we scramble to figure out what to do. But in the end we all must eventually rely on someone else to get us where we need to be. Especially when medical issues arise. That is what makes getting sick a trillion dollar industry in America. But today the news talked about observing a few hundred people. And I was concerned they are not all under quarantine. This lackadaisical idea of observation without quarantine is bull---. What are we watching for? Temps, nausea, vomiting. What is it that we are supposed to do with the sick ones? Wash their butts from fecal matter and urine and watch them die? I have worked in hospice. And worked with HIV, Hep C patients. Some were very considerate about others, some were down right nasty. When this newest killer disease takes hold who will be there for all the dying? The military. Our leaders? Their families? Who? And can I just observe and watch them until they die? What kind of nursing note would we write? Patient A had temp 103 now shaking vomiting sweating like a monsoon storm. The Doctor order's Tylenol unable to give it rectally massive amounts of blood and fecal matter coming out. Unable to start IV due to severe dehydration? We can't possibly make those who are sick better or more comfortable. So we will continue observing hundreds and use quarantine only for the ones we think need it? Is this how we think we will stop Ebola with observation and quarantine?

Ebola and Forced Health insurance

Ebola has opened the conversation, how best to protect the over crowded human population. Texas first reported they had a case of Ebola in September. Texas flew a sick physician back and they administered medication that cured his disease. That same physician has donated his blood to others who are a match to him to save their lives. FDA says there is no cure. With a 100 percent kill rate Ebola has been killing Africans for several months. The CDC began revamping its protocols, while health workers had all ready seized the opportunity to be of service. One man returned sick from Africa he headed to the ER and was turned away from the hospital. He returned with the full blown disease he later died. The news reported he lied and that his dog was taken away and killed to prevent the spread of the disease. People were upset about his dog being killed. Now we have a nurse who does not want to remain in quarantine for the 21 days because she believes she is not infected. Her rights come before all others apparently. Each state in America is scrambling to set up protocols when those arrive here who are sick. As a health care worker, I am appalled at anyone who would not stay in quarantine for 21 days to protect the rest of the people in the city or country. After nearly twenty years working in the health care field in America I have personally experienced what happens with accidental needle sticks, and the one year of testing that follows to clear us from disease. HIV, Hep C, Hep B, MRSA, just to name a few. I have witnessed health care workers who feel they are superior to protocols while employed at facilities that house the sick and the elderly. Physicians who will not wash their hands prior to patent care. Nurses and caregivers who failed to where PPE (personal protective equipment)even when they are placed at the patients room. Directors of nursing who do not teach their staff how to use PPE and Doctors who tell you it isn't really about protecting you, but about protecting the patient from what ever you might have. Ebola has people scared and we ought to be. This disease turns the organs to liquid. A horrific death follows. Basically people drown to death. But now, no one wants to close Africa's boarders? Simply put: all Africa needs to do is have safe zones set up outside of airports for those who have assisted with Ebola patients and let them stay there for the 21 day period. Then they can return home knowing they will not infect anyone. This isn't buying time it is ending a disease that knows no boarders. You might say, why should they do that? What about their family and friends. As this disease takes hold in America case after preventable case comes back spreading the disease even further. One professor tells the nation we don't need to close the boarders we need to think clearly and react sanely. He has obviously never seen a patient with HIV purposely throw their fecal matter or spit on staff out of anger. This does and has happened. There will always be individuals who place their freedom above everyone else's right to be safe. The CDC recommends full face respirators with rubber gloves, boots and suits then tape around shoes and wrists to prevent workers from getting sick. This is the trillion dollar question. Did our government force us to buy health insurance knowing this disease was going to get here. And if so, how can regular persons protect themselves from this disease if people will not stay in quarantine for 21 days regardless of symptoms?

There are some people who thrive on stirring up problems between others. They enjoy the pain that others inflict, they sit and watch with great pleasure. These same adults are enjoy crucifying others. They must have been cruel children. Living in a country where children are killing children gives thought of why? Why are so many deciding that killing someone is solving their temporary problems? Have we eliminated school counselors? Do they have the right training? Where are the support groups in schools for troubled kids? How many adults believe they have the answers. While guns keep getting into the hands of youth. Adults tell each other we need our rights protected, we will never give up our guns. Every day we send our kids to schools hoping they make it home. The anxiety these situations creates lasts forever. We never forget those who have died that we cared about. Our lives touched forever by tragedy created from children. Parents telling us how much the child was loved and how good they were. Or how happy they made their families. These parents did not know these kids were seeking vengeance through violent acts that would end lives. Violence in schools is becoming an every day occurrence in this country. Adult acts of violence have not stopped. There are countless acts of violence with adults daily. Some say we need God, some say we need to move into the Universe, others say we need more teachers. More money, more training. More more more. Perhaps simply stop the violence from its core root of intimidation, bullying and harassment. Educate, instead of hate. Oregon school shooting May 10th 2014. Our hearts go to all who were touched by this tragic act of selfish violence. Please forgive - there was a shooting prior to this one that killed another young man. Again,we are deeply moved by these terribly sad deaths.

The American dream has dried up and gone underground. Only 7.2 million signed up for the so called, Affordable Care Act formally Obama Care. We have a population of just over 300 million. According to this web site: http://www.census.gov/popclock/ When our leaders try to tell us how great that 7.2 million signed up, do they think we are stupid? Those numbers do not justify the forced purchase of insurance; be it called health insurance or car insurance. Our lives mean nothing but trillions of dollars to big hospitals. And pharmaceutical companies reap huge profits at our expense and then tell us that is the cost of making a drug. How ironic a drug maker on the street can sit for a mere six to eight hours and cook up killer drugs for a few hundred dollars. But pharmaceutical companies tell us how financially burdened they are from our government regulators.

Truth or some thing in between?

Knowing the truth is not always as easy as it sounds. Truth can be varied. Some give it in degrees of emotional response when trying to please other people. While we all want to tell the truth, most folks are very bad at it. If I told the women in my life that their lovers were not faithful how can this help them? I have found in my own experience that matter is better left up to those in the relationships. If I found out you are gay what does that really matter? Unless I am seeking to bed you, why would it matter to me if you are gay straight bi or transgendered? Am I a superior human? Telling other people's personal information is not a professional attribute as some may believe. Nor is creating hostile work places by gossiping about your co-workers. There are many who believe, if they pay you an income they have the right to know everything about you. Do you believe this makes for a better employee? Perhaps the truth is, we have never lost enslavement in it's basic form?
